Images are from the ancient capitals of Anuradhapura (370BC - 1070AD) , Polonnaruwa (1070AD - mid 13th century) and Sigiriya Fortress (built in 473AD), Kandy, the last Sinhalese capital (fell to the British in 1815) the current capital Colombo, and the coastal towns of Negombo and Hikkaduwa.
