Gānsù
Gānsù is a province of contrasts, stretched as it is in a thin strip through China, from the mountainous regions in the South West through to the sand dunes of the deserts in the North. Today Gānsù is one of the poorest provinces in China, its place in history however is secure due to the Silk Road winding its way through the province.
For both the traveller and the photographer besides the natural beauty of the province, the friendliness of the diverse population of Han, Hui, Mongols, Tibetans and Kazaks who reside in the province, the major attraction are the old oases towns Silk Road.
